Pauanui Beachfront Renovation

It was a privilege for LBG Builders to work on this project for a former boss. Brett worked for Grant in the early 2000s, as a builder on high-end projects in Auckland. Twenty years later it was very special to be chosen by Grant to transform his original Pauanui bach that he built in the 1980s, making it into a comfortable and refreshed space for him and his partner to spend more time in during their retirement.

LBG Builders completely refurbished the entirety of the inside of the house from the bottom up by reframing, painting, flooring and more. We also updated the kitchen area and added a scullery, making good use of a small space. As for the outside we reclad in horizontal cedar weatherboards and redid the roof in a four part process documented in photos below. This work saw the roof transformed from an old, rusted iron roof to one made out of TPO, while also updating it to feature solar power and skylights. The build was undertaken in the middle of winter, which was made possible by tenting the entire house during the build so we could continue to work on it despite rain and other weather conditions.
